He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.” – Matt. 28:6-7 NIV

Jesus Christ had indeed risen as confirmed by the women who visited the tomb. They had arrived the tomb on the very first day of the week after celebranting the Sabbath with the intention to apply spices on his body only for an angel to appear in a lightening, filled with bright light, rolled back the stone and on their entering they met an empty tomb. No human being had been there before them and the angel addressing their worry about the whereabouts of the body of Jesus Christ, told them he had risen and was waiting for them in Galilee. They were to go and inform the disciples to meet him up there – Matt. 28:1-12.
Jesus is indeed waiting in Galilee, not only for the Disciples, but for everyone, the Christian inclusive. Galilee is an old french word with origin from the latin word Galilea which refers to a chapel or a porch at the entrance of a church. That is where Jesus Christ is waiting to welcome all who will willingly come to him. They will not have to wait for him as he has gone ahead to wait for them. He is waiting at the entrance so that he can lead them into the Church, which is his body (1Cor. 12:12-27) and present them to his father, he being a priest in the order of Melchizedek (Heb. 5:6), clean and spotless, as living sacrifice, worthy to be accepted and restored into the garden of Eden – Jude 1:24; Rom. 12:1. That is why he is waiting. Are you willing to meet up with his invitation?
The disciples did meet him there, but just as the attendance at that meeting was not only by the Disciples as others also joined, also of note is that not all the Disciples were fortunate to be present. At least there is the assurance that Judas was not there. He had lost out because of his greed – Matt. 27:1-10. Many people who are associated with him will also not be able to meet with him at the great presentation of his people to his father, not necessarily because of greed but because of other acts that are not expected to be found in anyone associated with him. It cannot always be assumed that he will cover up that negative act by the grace of his presence, just as the possible expectation of Judas that Jesus will disappear as usual, whilst he can keep is thirty shekels was not met. It is wrong for the Christian to continue in sin and expect Grace to abound – Rom. 6:1. No matter how much intimacy we think we have with him, deliberately continuing in sin will constantly and gradually separate us from him. We must stay away from sin as no one who has come to genuinely accept him as Lord and Savior will continue to enjoy the proceeds of a sinful life. No one! – 1Jn. 3:9.
Some people are actually sincere in their desire to meet with him in Galilee but unfortunately have gone to the wrong address. The location called Galilee will not carry any significance in this instance if he is not there. If you have arrived at the right location, you will not have to wait for him because he will be waiting for you. He is always standing at the door knocking and it is only those who open for him that he joins and sups with – Rev. 3:20. The delay is not from him but from you. If you have arrived at the right location, then you will meet him because he will surely be waiting for you like the father of the prodigal son who is always on the watch for the return of this son – Lk. 15:11-32. Do not just return, be sure that you have returned to Galilee where he is waiting.
Most people Christians inclusive arrive at the tomb and believe they are in Galilee. The truth like the angel said is that, it is not possible to seek for the living amongst the dead. He rose long time ago. Stop waiting for him to appear in that location because it is an indication that you are in the wrong location. Jesus is risen. Halleluyah! He rose long time ago and he is only waiting for you in Galilee so he can present you to his father. His manifestation if you have arrived at the right destination is instant. He will never keep you waiting as he will instantly welcome you into his fold and count you amongst his people. Instantly, you begin to live a new life because the old life will be wiped off – 2Cor. 5:17.
He will however expect that you will voluntarily reject all those old lifestyle and embrace the new life that he is presenting. A life that rejects all the works of the flesh and begin to produce the fruits of the spirit – Gal. 5:19-23. That is the life that he desires and that is the one that all those who come to Galilee must live. Like he said, it is only by your fruit that the world will know your location – Matt. 7:15-20. It is simply impossible to be in Galilee and have no spiritual fruit associated with your life.
If you really believe he rose, then meet him in Galilee and do not seek him amongst the dead. Bring forth fruit that is associated with your new status and then he will be happy to present you spotless before his father on that great day – Matt. 3:8. May we all be acceptable to the father on that day in Jesus name. Amen.
